Accessories for the Honda GL1800 Gold Wing

Long days on the road are central to the Honda GL1800 Gold Wing’s role as a touring motorcycle, whether you ride alone or with a pillion. That makes wind protection, luggage and looking after the bike between rides particularly relevant. The most useful accessories are those that suit the way you travel, from a full day on the motorway to a tour with overnight stops.

What riders usually fit to the Honda GL1800 Gold Wing

• Screens: Sustained motorway riding puts wind protection high on a Gold Wing rider’s list. A different screen can help tailor airflow protection to your riding position. Its height matters, but so does keeping a comfortable, clear view of the road throughout a long day.
• Protectors: Manoeuvring at an overnight stop or parking with luggage on board is part of touring, too. Protectors can help limit damage from minor knocks and scrapes to the areas they cover, with the protection offered depending on the particular component.
• Luggage: On a multi-day Gold Wing trip, cases help keep belongings organised rather than simply providing somewhere to pack them. When travelling with a pillion, separating the things you both need during the day from overnight essentials makes stops less of a rummage.
• Covers: A cover is useful when your tour involves leaving the motorcycle outside overnight. Keeping the Gold Wing covered while parked helps reduce the dirt that settles on it, particularly when you are moving between different places to stay rather than returning to a garage.

For day trips, a screen and protection may deserve more attention than luggage. If you regularly travel for several days with a pillion, planning how to organise your shared load becomes just as useful.
