Accessories for the Honda NSR250R

The Honda NSR250R is a sports bike that suits riders who enjoy a winding road. It may also appeal to those preparing a bike for track riding. Either way, braking and suspension response are closely tied to what you feel on the approach to a bend, through it and on the way out. That makes them useful places to focus when choosing accessories: the right area to address depends on where you ride and which part of the experience you want to work on.

What riders usually fit to the Honda NSR250R

For this sort of riding, brakes and suspension have different jobs. Thinking about the moment you brake, then turn and accelerate, can help you decide which deserves your attention first.

• Brakes: a natural area to consider if you want to focus on the NSR250R’s approach to corners. On a twisting road, one braking point can follow another in quick succession, so being able to control how you slow down matters to the rhythm of the ride. Braking also comes into focus on track, where those moments repeat lap after lap. Braking is among the accessory brands listed for this bike.
• Suspension: worth considering if your priority is how the NSR250R responds as you move from braking into a bend and begin to accelerate again. It can be particularly relevant when you ride both on the road and on track, as the pace and demands differ. Rather than treating it as an isolated upgrade, think about the handling you want across the whole corner. Öhlins is one of the brands available in this category.

You do not need to tackle both areas at once. If repeated braking is what stands out on your usual rides, start with brakes; if your main concern is the bike’s response through a sequence of bends, look at suspension. Let the roads or track sessions you actually ride guide that choice.
