Accessories for the Honda NX500

The Honda NX500 is an adventure bike suited to weekday commuting and weekend road trips. The right accessories depend on how you divide your riding between the two. Regular motorway journeys put wind protection high on the list, while nights away call for luggage and longer days make your riding position worth a closer look.

What riders usually fit to the Honda NX500

• Screens: useful when your commute involves exposed stretches of dual carriageway or a weekend ride starts with motorway miles. A screen helps manage wind exposure, but coverage is only part of the decision: being able to see clearly over it matters on winding country roads too.
• Luggage: gives you somewhere to carry everyday essentials or pack for an overnight stop. For trips with a pillion, space for both riders' belongings reduces the need for backpacks and helps keep the shared seating area clear rather than filling it with bags.
• Crash bungs and crash bars: worth considering for a bike that sees city parking, regular stops and loaded touring. They can help limit damage in some low-speed falls, including a loss of balance while manoeuvring with luggage, rather than being solely an off-road accessory.
• Handlebars and footpegs: offer ways to tailor your contact points when short daily rides turn into full days out. On an NX500 used for touring, the position of your arms and legs deserves attention alongside carrying capacity, particularly over several hours of country roads.
• Phone mounts: keep navigation directions in view when you venture beyond familiar routes. They also make sense for urban journeys with changing destinations, allowing you to follow a route set before departure without relying on a phone tucked away in your luggage.

Build around your most frequent journey first. For an NX500 used mainly on longer trips, wind protection and luggage are sensible starting points.
