Accessories for the Honda VFR800F

The Honda VFR800F is a sports tourer suited to longer journeys as well as days on winding roads. That combination puts wind protection, comfort at the controls and protection for exposed parts high on the list of useful additions. What makes sense for your bike depends on whether most rides are short local outings or full days in the saddle.

What riders usually fit to the Honda VFR800F

• Screens: A screen helps manage airflow on the motorway stretches that often connect the more enjoyable parts of a touring route. On the VFR800F, its height and shape need to work with your riding position: sitting upright for distance creates different wind protection needs from leaning forwards.
• Levers: Brake and clutch operation is central to a day on twisting roads, while town traffic adds repeated use at either end of the ride. Lever shape and reach affect how your fingers meet the controls, making them worth considering for mixed touring and everyday use.
• Footrests: These provide support for your boots through bends and influence how your legs sit during longer stretches. For the VFR800F’s sports-touring role, the aim is to balance a secure foothold on winding roads with a position you can sustain over a full day.
• Protectors and crash protection: These help limit damage to the areas they cover in a knock or fall. They are a practical consideration for a VFR800F used for commuting or touring, where frequent parking stops and manoeuvring are part of the routine.
• Phone mounts: Keeping navigation directions visible is useful when a weekend ride takes you onto unfamiliar roads. For longer VFR800F trips, mount placement matters as much as visibility: the phone should not obscure the instruments or get in the way of the controls.
