Accessories for the Honda VTR1000 SP-1

The Honda VTR1000 SP-1 is a sports bike suited to winding-road rides and track days. Accessories that address wind protection, contact with the controls and support through the footrests make particular sense here. Road use also brings comfort into the picture: spending longer in a sporting riding position makes the way your hands and feet meet the bike just as relevant as its appearance.

What riders usually fit to the Honda VTR1000 SP-1

• Screens: help divert airflow away from your upper body on open-road stretches. On the SP-1, the useful consideration is how that protection works with your riding position, whether you are sitting up between bends or tucking in along a circuit straight.
• Protectors: are a practical addition when weekend road rides share the calendar with track days. They can help reduce damage to the areas they cover in a fall, rather than simply changing the SP-1's looks, but cannot prevent every kind of damage.
• Levers: put the focus on the brake and clutch controls you use repeatedly through a sequence of bends. Replacing damaged or deteriorated levers helps look after these important contact points, particularly on an SP-1 used for regular riding rather than display.
• Footrests: provide support as you shift your body position on a sports bike. For twisty roads and circuit sessions, keeping their contact surfaces in good condition matters when placing your feet and moving from one side of the bike to the other.
• Bolts and fasteners: serve both a practical and a cosmetic purpose on a faired sports bike. If you remove the SP-1's bodywork for maintenance or track preparation, renewing worn or damaged fasteners deserves attention alongside the more visible accessories.
