Accessories for the Honda VTR1000 SP-2

The Honda VTR1000 SP-2 is a sports bike suited to winding-road rides and track days. Accessories for this kind of riding tend to focus on your position, contact with the controls and protection for exposed parts, rather than carrying luggage. The useful balance depends on how you spend your time on the bike: a full day on the road places different demands on you from a short track session.

What riders usually fit to the Honda VTR1000 SP-2

• Screens: help direct airflow away from your upper body on road rides and work with a tucked-in riding position on track. On the SP-2, the screen's shape matters both for wind coverage and for the room available when you lower yourself over the tank.
• Protectors: help limit damage to the areas they cover in a scrape or fall. For an SP-2 used on both road and track, protecting exposed components can be a more practical priority than changing the bike's appearance.
• Levers: provide your contact with the brake and clutch as you work through a sequence of bends. Replacing them is an opportunity to consider finger placement and comfort at the controls, particularly when a ride involves frequent braking and gear changes.
• Footrests: support your feet under braking and as you lean or shift your body position. That support matters when riding the SP-2 actively, while the relationship between your feet and legs also affects how comfortable you remain on longer road outings.
• Fasteners: are useful for replacing fixings when servicing the bike or removing parts. If preparing your SP-2 between track days involves regular dismantling, looking after those fixings is part of keeping the components you have worked on properly secured.

For mixed road and track use, consider your riding position over a whole journey. A stance that feels right during a track session may become tiring over a longer road ride.
