Accessories for the Honda VTX1300

The Honda VTX1300 is a cruiser made for unhurried rides on the road. With this kind of bike, comfort is not just about the time spent riding: wind exposure on a longer run, your position at the bars and the way you handle the bike at low speed all shape which accessories are worth fitting. How and where you leave it between rides matters too. Some additions make a journey more comfortable, while others are useful when parking or looking after the bike.

What riders usually fit to the Honda VTX1300

The most useful choices depend on whether you mainly take it out for longer rides or use it for shorter journeys with frequent stops:

• Screens: help take some of the wind off your body on open roads. That can make a noticeable difference when you spend a sustained stretch in the saddle rather than making a quick local trip.
• Mirrors: let you tailor the rearward view to your riding position. Clear sight behind you is valuable when a relaxed ride includes town traffic or when you have a passenger aboard.
• Protectors: offer extra protection for moments such as moving the VTX1300 while stationary or manoeuvring slowly into a parking space. They are worth considering if your rides involve plenty of stops.
• Handlebars: affect where your hands and arms sit as you ride. On a cruiser that invites longer spells on the road, a different position may be of interest if comfort is your priority.
• Covers and blankets: keep the bike covered while it is parked. They are particularly useful if your VTX1300 spends time standing between weekend rides.
• Stands and side stands: provide support when parking or attending to the bike. They make sense if you regularly take care of basic maintenance yourself.

For a VTX1300 that sees plenty of open-road riding, a screen may be the first thing to consider. If shorter trips and frequent parking are more typical, accessories for handling and storage may matter more.
