Accessories for HONDA XL 600 RM

Accessories for the Honda XL 600 RM

The Honda XL 600 RM is a trail bike suited to riding on both roads and tracks. That mix of riding shapes which accessories are worth considering. Carrying kit for a few days away is a different priority from keeping the bike ready for regular rides without luggage. Brakes and transmission also deserve attention on a machine from 1986–1988, particularly if your plans include changing surfaces and spending longer in the saddle.

What riders usually fit to the Honda XL 600 RM

• Brakes: moving between tarmac and tracks can mean adjusting your pace repeatedly, so predictable braking matters on this bike. Brake accessories are relevant whether your XL 600 RM sees regular short journeys or is being prepared for a longer ride. They are especially worth considering when your route includes luggage and varied terrain rather than a straightforward run on the road.
• Luggage: cases make sense when the Honda is used for touring or for several days of exploring. They provide somewhere to carry clothing and other essentials without wearing a backpack for the whole journey. Leaving your shoulders free is welcome over a long day, while keeping kit off your back makes it easier to shift your position when the route takes you onto tracks.
• Transmission: this is an area to keep in mind if your rides involve both steady road miles and slower going away from the tarmac. It affects how the bike delivers drive as you change pace, whether you are easing along a track or getting back up to speed on the road. Transmission accessories therefore have a place in preparing the XL 600 RM for the kind of riding you actually do.

For this Honda, the choice is often between carrying what a trip demands and focusing on the parts involved in every ride. Both priorities reflect its road-and-track role.
