Accessories for the Honda XL1000V Varadero

The Honda XL1000V Varadero is an adventure tourer with a strong road-going focus. Long motorway stretches, winding back roads and trips with a pillion put wind protection, luggage and riding position ahead of purely cosmetic changes. Accessories make most sense here when they support the way you cover distance, rather than simply adding more equipment.

What riders usually fit to the Honda XL1000V Varadero

• Screens: sustained motorway riding makes airflow a priority. A screen helps divert wind away from your upper body, while its height and shape work with your seated position to determine where the airflow reaches your helmet.
• Luggage: useful for carrying clothes and touring essentials without taking over the pillion seat. For a Varadero used on weekends away or longer holidays, luggage needs depend on the length of the trip and whether someone is travelling with you.
• Crash protectors and bars: these can help reduce damage in some stationary drops and low-speed falls. They are particularly relevant when manoeuvring a loaded touring bike into a parking space or turning around on a ride.
• Handlebar components: the relationship between your hands, arms and seated position matters over several hours on the road. Accessories in this area can help tailor the riding position for relaxed distance riding rather than a more tucked-in stance.
• Stands: parking support deserves attention on trips involving luggage and frequent stops. It matters when loading or unloading the bike along the way, as well as when looking after it at home between journeys.

Choosing parts for your Varadero's year

The Varadero has changed over the years, so the 1999-2002 and 2003-2011 versions do not always take the same parts. Screens, protectors and fairing parts are examples of accessories that do not fit every year. Choose your bike's year on this page to see only the parts that fit your version.
