Accessories for the Honda XL700V Transalp

Long road days, commuting and the occasional easy trail all suit the Honda XL700V Transalp’s adventure-touring character. That mix makes your usual riding a useful starting point when choosing accessories. A bike used for weekends away needs luggage and wind protection, while regular outings beyond the tarmac bring protection and your riding position further up the list.

What riders usually fit to the Honda XL700V Transalp

• Handlebars: reach to the controls matters when your Transalp handles both town traffic and longer road journeys. Bar choice can help tailor your riding position, with seated comfort and the position you adopt when standing on easy trails both worth considering.
• Protectors and crash bars: useful for a Transalp that ventures onto loose surfaces, these can also help protect the areas they cover during a stationary drop. Their role becomes particularly relevant when manoeuvring a loaded bike or stopping on uneven ground during a trip.
• Luggage: cases give clothing and touring essentials a dedicated home rather than leaving everything in a rucksack. For a Transalp that doubles as a commuter, consider how much luggage space you need alongside the extra bulk when navigating tight parking spaces.
• Screens: wind protection deserves attention if your routes involve sustained stretches of open road. Your height and seated position affect how useful the coverage feels, so think about those together with your view of the road ahead.
• Footrests: a suitable platform matters during long hours in the saddle and when standing for an easy trail section. On a mixed-use Transalp, the way your boots sit on the footrests is part of getting the riding position right.

When touring two-up, leave room for your passenger as well as your belongings. If most journeys are short urban trips, a less bulky setup may be more practical than keeping all your touring luggage fitted.
