Accessories for the Husqvarna FE 450

The Husqvarna FE 450 is an enduro bike built for riding away from tarmac. On rocky trails and rutted tracks, what you fit to it serves a different purpose from accessories chosen mainly for motorway riding. Protection and a practical way to support the bike between rides take priority, while a screen or mirrors may be worth considering if your routes also involve more open stretches or road connections.

What riders usually fit to the Husqvarna FE 450

• Protectors: a sensible focus for an FE 450 used on narrow trails, among stones or over uneven ground. They are there for the scuffs and knocks that can come with off-road riding, including low-speed tumbles, rather than for comfort during a long road journey.
• Stands and side stands: useful when you need to support the bike at the end of a ride, pause on a route or work on it before heading out again. On an enduro bike that spends time away from level parking surfaces, stopping and setting the bike down is part of how it gets used.
• Screens: worth a look if getting to your trails means riding along exposed roads or open tracks. Their job on the FE 450 is to offer some shelter from the wind on those stretches; they answer a different need from the protectors you might prioritise on rougher ground.
• Mirrors: relevant when a day's riding includes public roads between off-road sections. Being able to keep track of traffic behind you matters on those links, even if most of your time on the FE 450 is spent concentrating on the trail ahead.

Think about where each ride begins and ends as well as the terrain in between. That makes it easier to balance off-road protection with the items that help during stops and road links.
