Accessories for the Indian FTR

The Indian FTR brings flat-track-inspired styling to a naked road bike used for everything from urban journeys to rides on winding roads. Accessories make most sense when they support that mix: comfortable contact points, protection for exposed areas and styling that keeps the bike looking uncluttered. If your favourite roads involve a motorway stretch to get there, wind protection deserves attention too.

What riders usually fit to the Indian FTR

• Screens: Worth considering when your rides take you beyond town and onto faster roads. A screen helps divert some of the airflow away from your torso, making wind management a useful priority for longer outings on a naked bike like the FTR.
• Protectors and crash protection: The FTR’s exposed layout makes protection a practical choice for everyday riding. These accessories can help limit damage in a low-speed fall or a mishap while manoeuvring around parked cars, rather than simply changing the bike’s appearance.
• Levers: Frequent use in traffic and careful inputs on twisting roads put the hand controls at the centre of the ride. Lever shape affects where your fingers rest, so this is a useful area to focus on when making your FTR more comfortable to operate.
• Footpegs: Secure, comfortable foot support matters when linking bends together. For an FTR used on both short evening rides and full days out, the peg’s contact surface and how it feels under your boot deserve as much attention as its appearance.
• Number plate holders: A styling-focused option for riders who want to emphasise the FTR’s flat-track influence. Changing the rear number plate holder can alter the look of the tail, without making luggage or touring equipment the focus of the build.

For commuting mixed with weekend rides, start with the parts you touch and the areas you want to protect. Styling changes can follow once the bike feels right for the journeys you actually make.
