Accessories for the Indian FTR 1200 S

Flat track styling gives the Indian FTR 1200 S its distinctive look, but this naked bike belongs on the road. For commuting and weekends on winding routes, accessories that suit your riding position or protect exposed areas make practical sense. If your rides also involve longer stretches of open road, wind protection deserves attention alongside changes to the bike’s appearance.

What riders usually fit to the Indian FTR 1200 S

• Screens: a screen can redirect some of the airflow away from your upper body, making longer road sections more comfortable. On the naked FTR, that is useful when motorway miles separate you from the roads you enjoy riding most.
• Protectors, crash bobbins and bars: these add protection around exposed areas in a low-speed fall or knock. They are worth considering for an Indian used around town, where parking manoeuvres and moving through tight spaces are part of everyday riding.
• Levers: their shape and reach affect how your fingers meet the controls. For an FTR used in both stop-start traffic and on twisty roads, comfortable access matters during repeated clutch use as well as when applying the brakes.
• Footrests: the shape and surface of the footrest influence how your boots sit on the bike. A supportive footing suits the FTR’s road-focused use, whether you are moving with the bike through bends or settling into a longer ride.
• Number plate holders: these offer a way to give the rear of the FTR a visually lighter finish that complements its flat track inspiration. Their main role here is styling, rather than addressing wind exposure or rider comfort.

If riding position is your priority, consider the handlebar, levers and footrests together. Changing one contact point can affect how comfortable the others feel, especially when your route combines town riding with longer open-road stretches.
