Accessories for the Indian FTR R Carbon

The Indian FTR R Carbon is a road-focused naked with flat track-inspired styling. For riders who split their time between town and winding roads, accessories have several distinct jobs: managing wind exposure, making the controls comfortable to use and refining the riding position. Appearance matters on this style of bike too, but a change to its looks serves a different purpose from something that helps on a longer ride.

What riders usually fit to the Indian FTR R Carbon

• Screens: Worth considering when a ride involves open roads or motorway stretches between your favourite bends. A screen can redirect some of the airflow away from your torso; on the FTR R Carbon, its shape also affects how closely the bike retains its naked look.
• Protection: Particularly relevant if your Indian handles weekday journeys as well as weekend outings. Manoeuvring past parked cars or through a tight garage leaves scope for minor knocks, and protectors can help limit damage to the areas they cover in a scrape or low-speed fall.
• Levers: Shape and reach influence how your fingers sit on the brake and clutch controls. That deserves attention on an FTR R Carbon used in stop-start traffic, where repeated lever use can make an awkward hand position more noticeable than on an uninterrupted country-road ride.
• Footpegs and handlebars: Think about these together when considering your road-riding posture. The relationship between your hands, seat and feet affects knee bend and the weight you place through your wrists, rather than simply making the bike look more sporting.
• Number plate holders: A styling option for the rear of the FTR R Carbon. Changing the plate mounting can complement its flat track-inspired appearance, keeping the visual focus on the bike rather than the surrounding hardware; this is an appearance change, not a comfort upgrade.
