Accessories for the Kawasaki GPZ500S

The Kawasaki GPZ500S brings a sporty approach to road riding without being limited to weekend outings. Commuting, winding roads and longer trips all suit its role, but each puts different demands on the accessories you fit. Comfortable controls matter in stop-start traffic; riding position and luggage become more relevant when a short ride turns into a weekend away.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki GPZ500S

• Levers: regular town riding means frequent clutch and brake use. On a GPZ500S that handles both the commute and Sunday rides, comfortable lever operation matters at busy junctions as well as when braking for the next bend.
• Handlebars: the riding position deserves attention if your trips are getting longer. For road use, the way your hands rest on the bars and the position of your arms are more useful considerations than changing the bike's appearance alone.
• Crash protection and protectors: these can help limit damage to the areas they cover if the bike falls. They make particular sense for a daily-use GPZ500S that regularly needs manoeuvring into parking spaces or moving around at walking pace.
• Suspension: winding-road riding puts the focus on more than the controls. Suspension helps the tyres maintain contact with the road, making it relevant when your routes include uneven surfaces or you alternate between riding alone and carrying a pillion.
• Luggage: carrying clothes and overnight essentials on the bike rather than your back makes weekend trips more practical. For a GPZ500S used throughout the week, cases can also carry work essentials without relying on a rucksack for every journey.

Choosing parts for your GPZ500S year

The Kawasaki GPZ500S changed over the years, with 1988-1993, 1994-1995 and 1997-2003 versions to distinguish when choosing accessories. Parts such as levers, crash protection and exhausts are not interchangeable across every version. Choose your bike's year on this page to see only the accessories that fit yours.
