Accessories for the Kawasaki GPZ600R

The Kawasaki GPZ600R is a sports bike at home on the road. Weekend rides and winding routes are a natural fit, though you might also use yours for regular journeys. That mix of riding shapes what is worth fitting. Rather than changing the bike’s purpose, you may want to consider the moments around a ride: pulling up for a stop, parking and moving the bike at low speed.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki GPZ600R

Here you’ll find protectors for the GPZ600R, including options from Puig. Protection makes sense on a sports bike that is ridden on the road and parked at cafés, at home or at the end of a day out. Those ordinary stops bring their own risks, separate from the riding itself. A protector is intended to provide an extra barrier against certain knocks or minor falls, not to prevent every mark or repair.

• Protectors: worth considering for the slow manoeuvres that come with taking the GPZ600R out. Turning the bike around in a tight space or settling it into a parking spot is very different from riding through bends, yet both are part of the same trip. Protectors add a measure of protection to the areas they are designed for; they do not make the bike immune to damage.

If your GPZ600R is mainly for winding-road rides, protectors address a practical part of those outings without shifting attention away from the ride. If it also handles everyday journeys, frequent stops give you another reason to think about protection. The useful question is where on your bike you want that extra barrier, given how you actually use it.
