Accessories for the Kawasaki KLE500 SE

The Kawasaki KLE500 SE is a trail bike suited to everyday journeys, weekend rides and touring. Those uses put different priorities on your accessory choices: wind protection matters on longer road sections, while a comfortable reach to the controls is particularly useful in stop-start traffic. Building around the journeys you actually make gives you a more useful set-up than adding parts without a clear purpose.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki KLE500 SE

• Screens: For motorway stretches and full days on the road, a screen helps reduce wind pressure on your upper body. When preparing the KLE500 SE for touring, consider the coverage you need alongside a clear view of the road from your normal riding position.
• Crash bobbins and bars: Everyday parking and manoeuvring at unfamiliar stops both make protection worth considering. These accessories can help limit damage from a stationary tip-over, particularly when you are handling the bike with luggage during a trip rather than riding it unloaded.
• Handlebars and levers: Changes around the controls can help tailor the riding position to you. A comfortable lever reach is useful during repeated stops on the commute, while the position of your arms and wrists becomes more noticeable over a long weekend ride.
• Luggage: Cases give you somewhere to carry clothing and travel essentials on a multi-day KLE500 SE trip without keeping everything in a rucksack. They also suit a bike that doubles as weekday transport, providing carrying space for the things you take to work.
• Phone mounts: If weekend rides take you beyond familiar roads, a mount lets you position a phone for navigation. For a touring set-up, look for a location that keeps the display visible without obscuring the instruments or getting in the way of the controls.
