Accessories for the Kawasaki KX250

The Kawasaki KX250 is a motocross bike built for riding off-road. On a track, ruts, jumps and hard braking put the focus on protection and control rather than touring equipment. What happens between sessions matters too: a secure way to support the bike makes routine attention easier before the next ride. That mix of riding and preparation shapes which accessories are worth considering for the KX250.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki KX250

• Protectors: flying stones, mud and the occasional fall are part of a day at a motocross track. Protection is a sensible place to start if you want to look after exposed areas of the KX250 while riding through rough ground or close to other bikes.
• Levers: you work the clutch and brake repeatedly through corners, ruts and approaches to jumps. Levers affect how those controls feel in your hands, which matters when you are shifting between sitting and standing as the track changes beneath you.
• Stands and supports: a stable support is useful when the KX250 is back in the paddock. It gives you a practical starting point for cleaning off mud, tending to the chain or working around the wheels between sessions, without having to lean the bike against something nearby.
• Suspension: a motocross lap can take you from braking bumps to jump landings in seconds. Suspension is therefore a key area for setting the bike up around the surfaces you ride, the pace you carry and the way you want it to respond through rough sections.

For this Kawasaki, it helps to think about accessories in two groups: those that serve you on the track and those that make looking after the bike easier off it. Protection, controls and paddock equipment each have a different role during a day’s riding.
