Accessories for the Kawasaki KX250F

The Kawasaki KX250F is a motocross bike built for riding away from tarmac. That makes the demands on its accessories rather different from those of a road bike. Control while riding matters, but so does being able to look after the bike between sessions, when there may be mud to clear or a lever to check after a fall. For the KX250F, it makes sense to focus on exposed areas, the controls you use throughout a ride and practical support when the bike is stationary.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki KX250F

• Protectors: ruts, stones and the occasional tumble are familiar parts of riding on dirt. Protection is worth considering for areas likely to take a knock, particularly if you spend your time practising laps and working on your technique rather than simply riding from place to place.
• Levers: braking and changing gear call for repeated, precise inputs on an uneven track. Levers matter when you are standing on the pegs, approaching a corner or settling the bike after a bump. They are also among the parts you may need to pay attention to after a fall.
• Stands and supports: the work does not end when a riding session does. A stable support makes it easier to clean the KX250F, inspect areas that are awkward to reach and carry out routine work before the next outing. It is a practical addition for time spent around the bike as well as on it.

Think about both halves of a typical day with the KX250F: riding on dirt and dealing with the bike afterwards. Protection and controls address what happens on the track, while a suitable support helps when it is time to clean and inspect it.
