Accessories for KAWASAKI KX85

Accessories for the Kawasaki KX85

The Kawasaki KX85 is a motocross bike built for riding on dirt. How it brakes and responds to rough ground matters when you are turning into a corner, crossing ruts or working through a technical section. That makes the way you ride a useful starting point when choosing accessories: a motocross practice session places different demands on the bike from a slower ride on dirt with a group.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki KX85

The accessories available for the KX85 serve different purposes. Some relate closely to riding on a motocross track, while others are useful in more specific settings. It helps to separate those roles before deciding what belongs on your bike.

• Brakes: a motocross lap calls for repeated braking as you approach corners and technical sections. Brake components, including options from Braking, are relevant when preparing your KX85 for that pattern of riding. Being able to control braking on loose ground matters as you set up the bike for the next turn.
• Suspension: ruts, bumps and landings put its response to work throughout an off-road session. A suspension option from Öhlins makes sense if you are focusing on how the KX85 behaves over uneven ground, from quicker stretches to slower, more technical parts of a course.
• Mirrors: they serve a different purpose from brakes or suspension during motocross practice. If you use your KX85 on dirt routes where you have mirrors fitted, they can help you keep track of other riders behind you when the group slows or comes back together. Highsider is among the brands available here.

For track practice, brakes and suspension play a part on every lap. Mirrors are more relevant to the particular kind of ride where keeping an eye on others behind you is useful.
