Accessories for the Kawasaki W230

The Kawasaki W230 is a classic-style bike that lends itself to everyday journeys and unhurried rides on the open road. If you use yours for a mix of town streets, parking and weekend outings, low-speed manoeuvres are part of the routine. That makes protection for areas exposed in a stationary or slow-speed tip-over worth considering. It is a different priority from setting up a bike chiefly for long trips with luggage, and one that reflects how a W230 may spend its time between rides as well as out on the road.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki W230

For this model, crash protectors and guards address a practical concern: looking after the bike during the short, routine movements that come with regular use. They may be particularly relevant if you often park in tight spaces, make several stops on a ride or take the bike out for short journeys. Puig and SW-Motech are among the accessory brands listed for the W230.

• Crash protectors and guards: these may help reduce direct contact between certain parts of the bike and the ground if it tips over at low speed. On a W230 used around town and for leisurely road rides, their value is often most apparent before the ride properly begins or just as it ends: turning in a confined space, moving into a parking bay or positioning the bike for the next outing. They cannot prevent every kind of damage, but they offer an extra measure of protection for those everyday manoeuvres.

Think about where you ride and park your W230 most often when deciding whether to fit protection. The answer is likely to be more useful than planning around a journey you rarely make.
