Accessories for the KTM 105XC

The KTM 105XC suits days spent riding on dirt, where ruts, stones and stops along the way all shape the experience. That makes protection and straightforward control more relevant than accessories chosen simply for appearance. Think about the ground you ride on and the points of the bike most likely to take a knock: those details give you a useful starting point when deciding what to fit.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 105XC

On this bike, the most useful additions tend to address exposed parts, the controls you use constantly and the practicalities of stopping between rides:

• Protectors: narrow tracks and uneven ground leave little room for error. If the 105XC tips over at low speed or brushes against rocks or branches, protection for exposed areas can be particularly worthwhile. It is an obvious area to consider when your usual riding involves ruts and tricky changes of direction.
• Levers: braking and adjusting your line over loose ground keep your hands busy. Levers are also among the parts worth thinking about if the bike occasionally ends up on its side. For the 105XC, they relate directly to maintaining a familiar feel at the controls during a ride.
• Stands and side stands: a day on the 105XC includes time off the bike, whether you are taking a break or looking it over afterwards. Having somewhere to support it is useful when stopping on uneven ground, where finding a suitable place to leave a bike can take more thought than it does on firm, level surfaces.
• Mirrors: when a route takes you through areas shared with others, seeing what is happening behind you can be useful. On the 105XC, your attention is often on the ground ahead, so a view to the rear serves a different purpose from the protection and control-focused accessories above.

For dirt riding, start with the areas that face the most contact on your usual routes. Stands and mirrors address the moments when you stop or need greater awareness of others around you.
