Accessories for the KTM 125XC

The KTM 125XC is a bike for riding away from tarmac, where uneven ground and slow-speed manoeuvres are part of the day. That shapes which accessories are useful. Luggage and wind protection take a back seat to parts that help look after exposed areas, keep the handlebar controls feeling right and make it easier to deal with the bike once the ride is over.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 125XC

A day on trails involves more than the time spent riding. There are obstacles to negotiate, stops along the way and a bike to clean or work on afterwards. The accessory types available for the 125XC address those different moments:

• Protectors: stones, ruts and overhanging vegetation can bring exposed parts of the bike into contact with the surroundings. Protection is particularly relevant on narrow trails or rougher ground, where an awkward dab or a low-speed tip can happen before you have room to recover.
• Levers: when you regularly stand on the pegs and adjust your line as the surface changes, the feel and position of the controls matter. Levers are worth considering if you want the hand controls to suit the way you ride, or need to replace a part worn through off-road use.
• Stands and side stands: having somewhere to rest the 125XC helps when you pause to sort out your kit. A stable bike is also easier to clean and attend to after a muddy ride, when you would rather focus on the work than on keeping the bike upright.

For this bike, protection matters while you are moving, control matters when the ground changes, and support matters when you stop. The trails you ride and what you do with the bike afterwards are useful starting points for deciding what to fit.
