Accessories for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S

Long road trips are a natural role for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S, a road-focused adventure bike equally at home on weekend rides. The right accessories depend on whether you mainly commute, head for winding roads or tour with a pillion. For longer journeys, wind protection, luggage and rider comfort are useful priorities, rather than treating every addition as a styling choice.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S

• Screens: Wind protection becomes more noticeable over long motorway stretches and exposed roads. A screen helps direct airflow away from your upper body, making its relationship with your height and riding position particularly relevant when setting this KTM up for touring.
• Panniers: Multi-day trips call for somewhere to carry clothing and everyday essentials without relying on a backpack. When touring two-up, luggage space also helps you organise both riders' belongings for overnight stops and days on the road.
• Protectors and crash bars: These are intended to help limit damage to the areas they cover in a fall. They are worth considering for travel involving frequent parking manoeuvres and unfamiliar stopping places, especially with luggage on the bike.
• Footrests: Foot support is part of your riding position, not just a minor detail. On an adventure bike used for consecutive days of road riding, it deserves attention alongside the other contact points that shape your comfort in the saddle.
• Phone mounts: Keeping navigation in view is useful when exploring unfamiliar back roads or finding an address in town. For touring, a phone mount gives your navigation device a dedicated position; leave route changes and other adjustments until you have stopped.

2017-2020 and 2021-2025 versions: why the year matters

The KTM 1290 Super Adventure S has changed over the years, so parts do not all carry over between the 2017-2020 and 2021-2025 versions. Levers, protectors and screens are examples that are not interchangeable across every year. Choose your bike's year on this page to see only the accessories that fit yours.
