Accessories for the KTM 1290 Super Duke RR

The KTM 1290 Super Duke RR is a sports-focused naked bike suited to winding roads and track days. Accessories for that kind of riding need to earn their place: better contact with the controls, protection for the bike and some relief from the wind on longer road sections. Styling changes can follow, rather than taking priority over how you use the bike.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 1290 Super Duke RR

• Screens: A screen helps deflect some of the airflow reaching your upper body on a naked bike. It makes particular sense when your favourite roads are a motorway ride away, or when a short blast becomes a full day out.
• Protectors: Worth considering when the RR divides its time between road rides and track sessions. They are intended to limit damage to the areas they cover in a fall, so focus on what you want to protect rather than appearance alone.
• Levers: Frequent braking and clutch use on twisty roads put the hand-to-control relationship in focus. Lever shape affects how your fingers sit against the control; think about that contact with your usual riding gloves, not just how the levers look.
• Footrests: Secure foot support matters when you shift your body through a sequence of bends. On a sports naked such as the Super Duke RR, that support needs to be considered alongside leg comfort during the road miles between the more demanding sections.
• Number plate holders: A common styling choice for a naked bike, changing how the plate sits within the rear-end design. This is primarily about the visual finish, so it can wait until you are happy with the rider contact points and wind protection.

For longer road rides, start with wind management and control comfort. If track days feature regularly, give more weight to foot support and protection for the bike.
