Accessories for the KTM 250 Adventure

The KTM 250 Adventure is an adventure bike that makes sense for everyday journeys as well as longer rides and trips beyond tarmac. That mix of uses shapes the accessories worth considering: somewhere to carry your kit, secure footing when you stand on the pegs and protection for exposed areas. A bike set up for the daily commute need not be equipped in quite the same way as one heading out for a full day of exploring.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 250 Adventure

• Luggage: cases give you room for spare clothing, tools and the things you want close at hand without relying on a rucksack. They suit a 250 Adventure that handles weekday trips and weekend routes alike. How much you carry will depend on whether you are heading out for the day or staying away overnight. SW-Motech is among the brands available here.
• Footpegs: worth considering if your rides take in tracks as well as tarmac. When you stand up to negotiate uneven ground, the contact under your boots becomes especially relevant; on longer road stretches, the pegs also affect how you settle into a comfortable riding position.
• Crash bars and protectors: useful to consider when you take this adventure bike onto tracks or manoeuvre it with luggage aboard. They add protection to the areas they are designed to cover if the bike tips over at low speed, a particular concern on uneven surfaces.
• Filters: part of looking after a bike that moves between commuting and days out on the road. If tracks are a regular part of your rides, maintenance deserves a place in your plans too. Sprint Filter is one of the filter brands available for this model.

Think about your usual route and what you need to take with you. That makes it easier to decide whether luggage, footing or protection should come first for your KTM.
