Accessories for the KTM 450 EXC-F Champion Edition

The KTM 450 EXC-F Champion Edition is an enduro bike, at home on trails and tracks where slow, technical sections can give way to more open riding. That mix changes what you ask of an accessory. You may spend one part of a ride standing on the pegs and another sitting down on a longer stretch, with the airflow feeling quite different in each position. When considering what to fit, it helps to think about both those riding positions rather than treating every mile as if it were the same.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 450 EXC-F Champion Edition

• Screens: worth considering if your enduro rides include longer links between trails or faster, open tracks. A screen is intended to divert some of the air reaching the rider, which may be welcome when you settle into a steady pace. On this bike, that aim needs to sit alongside the freedom to move when riding standing up and looking ahead over uneven ground. Puig screens are among the options listed for the KTM 450 EXC-F Champion Edition.

The balance depends on where you actually ride. On a day spent mostly negotiating slow, technical terrain, wind protection may scarcely enter your thoughts. If getting to your favourite trails involves sustained riding, or a route takes you across exposed, open ground, a screen becomes a more relevant consideration. Neither situation changes the enduro character of the bike; it simply puts a different part of the ride in focus.

Think about the moments when the wind is most noticeable to you: seated on a link road, crossing an open track or heading home after a ride. Those are more useful reference points for deciding whether a screen belongs on your KTM 450 EXC-F Champion Edition than the distance of the route alone.
