Accessories for the KTM 450 SX Racing

The KTM 450 SX Racing is geared towards sporty riding away from tarmac. On loose or uneven ground, knocks and falls are part of what you need to plan for, so the useful additions are rather different from those fitted to a touring bike. It makes sense to focus on exposed areas and the controls you use throughout a ride, especially when quick corrections and repeated braking are part of the session.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 450 SX Racing

Protection and control are the natural starting points here. The accessory types on this page also include a more situational option, worth considering according to how you use the bike between riding sessions.

• Protectors: riding on dirt can mean contact with stones, uneven surfaces or the ground itself. Protectors are intended to shield the areas they cover, which can make them a sensible addition if you regularly ride over rough terrain or practise manoeuvres where a fall is possible. Think about the kind of contact your bike is most likely to encounter rather than treating every protective part as serving the same purpose.
• Levers: repeated braking and changes of direction put a lot of emphasis on your hand controls. Suitable levers can make those frequent inputs more comfortable and help you maintain a consistent feel when the ground demands small, quick adjustments. They are particularly relevant if your riding involves extended periods of working the controls rather than steady travel at a constant pace.
• Mirrors: they are less central to riding the KTM 450 SX Racing in a sporting setting, but may be useful when you want to see what is behind you during quieter movements between riding areas. Whether they belong on your bike depends on where and how you use it away from your usual practice ground.

For this kind of riding, adding the parts that address a real need is more useful than fitting extras for their own sake. Start with what helps protect the bike and keeps the controls comfortable during your typical session.
