Accessories for the KTM 500 EXC-F

The KTM 500 EXC-F is an enduro bike for riding on tracks and trails, where uneven ground keeps you moving around the bike and working the controls. That makes protection and ease of use particularly relevant when choosing accessories. A ride spent negotiating narrow, technical sections also puts different demands on the bike from one that includes faster tracks or stretches of road between trails.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 500 EXC-F

The available accessories address both off-road riding and the journeys that link one riding area to another. Which ones matter most depends on where your 500 EXC-F spends its time:

• Protectors: stones, branches and low-speed tumbles are familiar hazards on enduro rides. Protecting exposed areas makes sense when the route takes you through tight gaps or over rough ground, where a small mistake can bring the bike into contact with an obstacle.
• Levers: riding standing up and shifting your weight through awkward sections puts repeated demands on the clutch and brake controls. Levers that feel right with your gloves can make those inputs easier to manage on a technical climb or when setting up for a tight turn.
• Screens: a screen can take some of the direct wind off you on road connections and quicker tracks. It is worth considering if your enduro outings involve time getting from one trail to the next, rather than being spent entirely on slower sections.
• Mirrors: seeing traffic behind you matters on public roads between off-road sections, particularly before turning or changing lanes. Mirrors are therefore relevant when your riding includes those road journeys as well as time on the trails.

For trail-heavy rides, protection and control will often be the priorities. If the route regularly includes road links, wind protection and a clear view behind you become part of the picture too.
