Accessories for the KTM 525 EXC

The KTM 525 EXC is an enduro bike made for riding away from tarmac, where uneven ground, vegetation and low-speed manoeuvres shape what is worth fitting. The most useful accessories address the demands of that riding: protecting the bike on a trail, keeping the controls comfortable to use and maintaining a clear view when travelling between off-road routes. It calls for a different approach from a road bike set up for long-distance journeys. On the 525 EXC, what matters is how a part works while you are shifting your weight, standing on the pegs or negotiating a narrow passage.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 525 EXC

• Protectors: Brush, loose stones and the occasional low-speed fall are familiar concerns on an enduro ride. Protectors help shield exposed areas of the bike when a route moves from open tracks to tighter, more demanding ground. They make particular sense if your outings include places where there is little room to avoid an obstacle.
• Levers: Braking and clutch control are constant parts of riding on loose surfaces. Suitable levers can make those repeated inputs more comfortable, whether you are seated, standing or adjusting your line around an obstacle. Their role is easy to appreciate on a route that requires frequent changes of speed rather than steady road cruising.
• Mirrors: When you use the 525 EXC on the road to link up off-road sections, mirrors help you keep track of vehicles behind you. They are useful before joining traffic or changing direction, when your attention has to shift from reading the ground ahead to sharing the road with other users.

Think about where your rides take you most often. Tight trails put protection in the foreground, while road connections make rearward visibility more relevant. That distinction helps you focus on accessories with a clear purpose for your own use of the bike.
