Accessories for the KTM 790 Adventure R

The KTM 790 Adventure R is an adventure bike with a strong off-road focus, suited to exploring trails as well as covering the road miles between them. That combination makes protection, standing comfort and luggage particularly relevant. Accessories need to support the way you ride, rather than simply add more equipment to the bike.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 790 Adventure R

• Protection and crash bars: rough tracks, low-speed manoeuvres and riding with luggage make these a practical priority. They help limit damage from knocks and falls, which matters more than cosmetic changes when your Adventure R regularly leaves the tarmac for less predictable terrain.
• Footpegs: spending time standing on the pegs makes boot support an important part of your setup. The contact area and peg position affect your stance on trails, but seated comfort still matters for the longer road sections that connect off-road routes.
• Screens: wind protection is useful on motorway stretches and full days on the road. For this KTM, it is worth balancing that coverage against a clear view of the ground ahead when standing, particularly on rides that repeatedly switch between roads and tracks.
• Panniers: carrying clothing and essentials turns a day out into a multi-day trip. On routes with unpaved sections, luggage width and load distribution deserve as much thought as capacity, while road touring with a pillion also calls for enough passenger space.
• Phone mounts: keeping route guidance in view is useful when navigating back roads and finding trail access points. Positioning matters on the Adventure R: the phone should not obscure the instruments, restrict handlebar movement or get in your way when you stand up.

Plan your travel setup with the luggage fitted, not just with an empty bike. Keeping room to shift your stance helps preserve the freedom of movement you need off-road.
