Accessories for the KTM 890 Adventure R

The KTM 890 Adventure R is an adventure bike suited to routes that mix tarmac with off-road riding. Preparing it for a trip means balancing wind protection and luggage space with room to move around when standing on the pegs. How much time you spend on trails, rather than roads, helps determine which accessories deserve priority.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 890 Adventure R

• Screens: A screen helps reduce wind exposure on the road sections between trails. For mixed riding, screen height also needs to leave a clear view of the ground ahead as you move between seated and standing positions.
• Protectors and crash bars: On rough tracks, a low-speed tumble or contact with an obstacle can damage exposed parts. These accessories help protect the areas they cover, making them particularly relevant when your Adventure R regularly leaves the tarmac.
• Panniers: Multi-day trips call for somewhere to carry clothing and equipment without putting everything in a rucksack. When trails form part of the journey, consider the extra width alongside the space you need to shift your weight on the bike.
• Footrests: Spending longer stretches standing makes foot support an important part of your riding position. For trail use, the platform and how it works with your riding boots matter more than appearance.
• Lighting: Early departures and late finishes make lighting worth considering on longer adventures. Reading the surface of an unlit track and spotting obstacles presents a different challenge from riding through well-lit town streets.

Choosing accessories for your model year

The 890 Adventure R has changed over the years, so the 2020, 2021-2022 and 2023-2026 versions do not necessarily take the same parts. Screens, protectors and exhausts are examples of accessories that will not fit every version. Choose your bike's year on this page to display only the parts that fit yours.
