Accessories for the KTM 890 Duke R

The KTM 890 Duke R is a sporty naked well suited to winding-road rides, with everyday commuting another possible part of its routine. That mix gives you a useful starting point for accessories: protection for the bike, controls that suit your riding position and some wind deflection for the faster stretches between your favourite roads.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 890 Duke R

• Screens: help divert some of the airflow away from your upper body on an unfaired bike. They make particular sense when a ride involves a motorway journey before the twisty roads begin, or when short outings become full days away.
• Protectors, crash bungs and crash bars: are intended to limit damage to the areas they protect if the bike falls or slides. For a Duke R used on the road or taken to track days, protection is a practical priority rather than a styling change.
• Levers and handlebars: let you tailor the contact points around your hands. On a sporty naked, control reach and hand position matter when linking corners, while a comfortable arrangement is also valuable during repeated stops and starts on the commute.
• Mirrors: keep following traffic in view when your Duke R is doing weekday duty. Their shape and position also influence the look of a naked bike's cockpit, but a clear rearward view deserves priority over appearance in busy urban traffic.
• Tail tidies: change the number plate mounting arrangement and the visual finish of the rear end. They suit an emphasis on the Duke R's sporty styling, rather than addressing wind exposure or comfort over longer road journeys.

For a weekend away, panniers may be more useful than another cosmetic detail. If your Duke R regularly tackles unfamiliar city routes, a phone mount provides a place to keep navigation in view.
