Accessories for KTM 990 ADVENTURE

Accessories for the KTM 990 Adventure

The KTM 990 Adventure is an adventure bike suited to journeys that mix tarmac with unpaved tracks. That combination shapes what is useful to fit. On a long day out, you may need room for your kit; once the route turns rough, protection and a comfortable position when standing on the pegs become more relevant. Thinking about where you actually ride is a practical starting point.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 990 Adventure

The accessories below address different parts of that road-and-trail use. They are worth considering in terms of the journeys you make, rather than treating every ride as though it places the same demands on the bike.

• Protectors: make particular sense if your routes regularly include stony or dusty tracks. They help shield exposed areas from the conditions you encounter away from smooth roads, where protecting the bike can matter as much as carrying your belongings.
• Footpegs: deserve attention when you spend time riding standing up. Secure footing makes it easier to shift between seated road riding and an upright position on uneven ground, without losing sight of comfort over a longer day.
• Luggage: gives you space for the kit needed on a multi-day trip. On the 990 Adventure, it can be especially useful when a route takes you from longer road sections to tracks without returning home between rides.
• Handlebar accessories: relate directly to one of your main points of contact with the bike. They are worth considering if your riding involves frequent changes of position as you move between tarmac and rougher surfaces.
• Mudguards: are relevant if your trail rides involve wet ground or muddy stretches. Managing spray becomes more noticeable when a journey goes beyond dry roads, particularly over a full day in changing conditions.

Decide which surfaces feature most in your riding and how much you normally carry. Those two details offer a useful way to prioritise accessories for your KTM 990 Adventure.
