Accessories for the KTM 990 Duke R

The KTM 990 Duke R is a sporty naked that suits winding roads as well as everyday journeys. Those uses put different demands on your setup: comfortable contact with the controls matters in traffic, while foot support deserves attention on a twisting route. If reaching your favourite roads involves a lengthy motorway ride, wind management is worth considering alongside protection and styling.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 990 Duke R

• Screens: sustained stretches of open road can make wind exposure more noticeable on a naked bike. A screen helps divert some airflow, making it a practical consideration when a day out on the Duke R includes longer journeys between the interesting roads.
• Protectors and crash protection: these aim to limit damage to the areas they cover in a fall or contact. They are relevant to weekend road rides, but also to a Duke R used for commuting, with the daily parking and low-speed manoeuvring that involves.
• Levers: brake and clutch operation are frequent parts of both town riding and a winding-road outing. Lever shape affects how your fingers sit against the controls, so consider that contact with your usual riding gloves rather than treating levers purely as a styling change.
• Footrests: a secure, comfortable place for your feet matters when moving between corners and settling into a longer connecting stretch. For this sporty naked, foot support is worth considering in terms of both active riding and the time you spend seated on ordinary roads.
• Number plate holders: an alternative holder can give the rear a cleaner appearance that complements the Duke R's sporty character. This is primarily a visual change, rather than one that addresses wind exposure or your contact with the bike during a ride.

For commuting mixed with weekend rides, prioritise contact points and protection. A screen becomes more relevant when longer open-road journeys form a regular part of your riding.
