Accessories for the KTM 990 Super Duke

The KTM 990 Super Duke is a sports-focused naked bike, well suited to twisty roads and an involved riding style. Everyday journeys and longer stretches of open road can be part of its routine too. The most useful additions depend on that balance: wind protection for the miles between bends, protection for exposed parts, or changes to how you sit and operate the controls.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 990 Super Duke

• Screens: worth considering when reaching your favourite roads involves a lengthy motorway or dual carriageway run. A screen helps divert some airflow away from your torso, with its height and shape influencing the balance between wind protection and the Super Duke's naked-bike appearance.
• Protectors and crash protection: help limit damage to exposed areas in minor spills or low-speed drops. For a Super Duke used both on weekend rides and around town, protection serves a practical purpose during parking and manoeuvring, rather than being purely a styling addition.
• Handlebars and levers: offer ways to tailor your riding position and contact with the controls. Comfortable arm positioning matters on winding roads, while frequent clutch and brake use in urban traffic makes lever feel particularly relevant to a bike that also handles daily journeys.
• Tail tidies: give the number plate area a neater appearance, complementing the sporting character of the 990 Super Duke. Their main role is visual: they suit riders who want a less prominent plate mounting arrangement rather than extra comfort on longer rides.
• Mirrors: influence both your rearward view and the look around the handlebars. On a Super Duke ridden through weekday traffic as well as open countryside, a useful view behind deserves more weight than appearance alone.

For mixed road and urban use, put control comfort and protection first. A screen becomes more worthwhile as the open-road portion of your riding grows.
