Accessories for the KTM 990 Supermoto

The KTM 990 Supermoto suits riders who make winding roads the focus of a day out. Its supermoto character puts riding position and freedom to move high on the list when choosing accessories. For a bike that also handles the daily commute, protection during low-speed manoeuvres matters too, while longer road journeys make wind protection worth considering.

What riders usually fit to the KTM 990 Supermoto

• Protectors, crash bobbins and crash bars: these can help limit damage in a low-speed fall. They make practical sense on a 990 Supermoto used for both weekend rides and town work, where parking, tight turns and frequent stops are part of the routine.
• Footrests: secure, comfortable foot placement matters when moving around the bike on a succession of bends. This is an area to focus on when tailoring your riding position, particularly if a short ride often turns into a full afternoon on twisting roads.
• Handlebars and levers: these address hand position and access to the controls. For the active riding associated with a supermoto, the aim is a riding position that lets your upper body move naturally rather than leaving your arms tense throughout the route.
• Screens: useful when the route to your favourite bends includes a motorway stretch. A screen can divert some of the airflow, adding shelter on connecting roads without making long-distance touring the main purpose of your accessory choices.
• Number plate holders: a way to give the rear of the bike a neater appearance that suits its supermoto style. This is primarily a visual change, rather than a response to the riding-position or wind-exposure concerns addressed by footrests and screens.

For regular town use, prioritise protection and a comfortable reach to the controls. If most of your mileage comes from longer road rides, foot support and wind protection deserve more attention.
