Accessories for the Kymco AK 550

The Kymco AK 550 is a sporty maxi-scooter suited to everyday commuting as well as weekend rides beyond the city. That mix of uses gives you two priorities when choosing accessories: practical protection for the daily routine and comfort on longer stretches of open road. A short urban commute calls for a different approach from a journey that regularly includes faster roads.

What riders usually fit to the Kymco AK 550

• Screens: wind protection becomes more useful when your commute includes dual carriageways or you take the AK 550 out for longer weekend rides. A screen helps reduce the airflow reaching you, making it a relevant addition for journeys that extend beyond stop-start city traffic.
• Protectors: daily scooter use often involves parking spaces and low-speed manoeuvres. Protectors can help limit damage to the areas they cover in a scrape or stationary drop, giving them a practical role on an AK 550 used for regular urban journeys.
• Mirrors: moving between busy streets and faster roads makes a clear rearward view particularly important. For an everyday AK 550, give priority to what you can see from your normal riding position rather than choosing mirrors solely to change its appearance.
• Phone mounts: a mount keeps navigation visible when you are finding an unfamiliar address across town or following a weekend route. It is useful for riders who use the same scooter for commuting and exploring; set your destination before moving off.
• Covers and leg covers: year-round commuting brings different needs from occasional summer rides. A leg cover helps shield you from the cold on daily journeys, while a protective cover is useful if your AK 550 spends time parked outdoors between trips.
