Accessories for the Kymco DJ 50 S

The Kymco DJ 50 S is a scooter suited to everyday journeys. That often means short rides, frequent stops and finding somewhere to park at the other end. Accessories for this sort of riding are less about preparing for a long tour and more about making familiar trips easier to manage. Whether you regularly follow directions across town or simply want to look after your scooter while it is parked, it helps to start with the way you actually use it.

What riders usually fit to the Kymco DJ 50 S

The accessories available for the DJ 50 S cover three useful parts of daily riding: looking after the scooter, keeping a route in view and taking some of the wind off the rider. Each addresses a different moment in a typical journey, so think about where you ride and how often you stop.

• Protectors: worth considering when your DJ 50 S spends time parked on busy streets or in places where vehicles manoeuvre close by. They help safeguard the areas they are designed to cover against minor contact and scuffs. For a scooter that is parked and picked up repeatedly during the day, protection is as much about those stops as it is about the ride between them.
• Phone mounts: useful when a journey involves unfamiliar streets or several turns in quick succession. Keeping directions in view is more convenient than taking your phone out at every stop, particularly on a route you make only occasionally. Set your destination before moving off, and give the road your full attention rather than interacting with the screen while riding.
• Screens: an option if your daily route includes more exposed roads as well as sheltered streets. A screen provides a degree of shelter from the airflow reaching the rider, which may matter more when a journey is longer or repeated regularly. On the DJ 50 S, it is a way to make those routine rides more comfortable without changing the purpose of the scooter.

For mostly urban riding, a phone mount may be the first thing you notice yourself using. If parking is the part of your routine that gives you pause, protectors may be more relevant; if you spend time on open stretches, consider a screen.
