Accessories for the Kymco Downtown 125i

The Kymco Downtown 125i is a scooter suited to everyday journeys around town and between nearby places. Commuting, running errands and making several stops in one day put the emphasis on practical equipment rather than sporting upgrades. Useful additions address the parts of that routine you notice most: exposure to the wind, finding unfamiliar destinations and leaving your scooter parked while you get on with your day.

What riders usually fit to the Kymco Downtown 125i

• Windscreens: help deflect airflow on the longer, uninterrupted stretches of a commute. If your journey includes open roads as well as traffic lights, screen height and shape matter for both wind protection and your view of the road from your normal riding position.
• Mirrors: support rearward observation during the lane changes and junction approaches that feature heavily in town riding. On a daily-use Downtown, a useful mirror position lets you check behind without repeatedly shifting your body to see past your own shoulders.
• Phone mounts: keep navigation directions visible when work takes you to different addresses or an errand involves an unfamiliar route. Position the phone so it does not obscure the instruments, and set your destination before moving off rather than adjusting it in traffic.
• Covers and leg covers: serve different parts of a year-round scooter routine. A leg cover helps shelter your legs from the cold while riding, whereas a storage cover protects the parked scooter from exposure when it spends time outside between journeys.
• Security locks: make sense for street parking during the working day and for shorter stops around town. If you frequently hop on and off your Downtown, ease of carrying and fitting the lock matters alongside the security it provides.

Think about the whole journey when choosing your setup: a short ride through busy streets places different demands on you from a longer commute with fewer stops.
