Accessories for the Macbor Eight Mile 500 Street

The Macbor Eight Mile 500 Street is a retro-styled naked suited to everyday journeys and weekend road rides. Those two uses put the emphasis on different things: managing the airflow once you leave town, and looking after the bike through regular parking and low-speed manoeuvres. The accessories here focus on screens and protectors, with Puig among the brands available for this model.

What riders usually fit to the Macbor Eight Mile 500 Street

• Screens. On a naked such as the Eight Mile 500 Street, exposure to the wind is more noticeable on open roads than it is between traffic lights. A screen can redirect some of the airflow away from your torso, making longer stretches more comfortable. It is a particularly relevant addition if your commute includes out-of-town roads or your weekend rides take you further afield. Think about how much of your riding involves sustained road speeds rather than short hops through town.
• Protectors. Everyday use often means wheeling the bike into parking spaces, making tight turns and moving it around at a standstill. Protectors can help limit damage from knocks to the areas they cover, making them a practical consideration for a Street used regularly around town. They address a different concern from wind exposure: looking after the bike during minor mishaps. They cannot, however, prevent all damage in a fall.

For mostly urban riding, protection against knocks may deserve more attention than airflow. If you regularly head out onto open roads, a screen becomes more relevant; a mix of commuting and leisure riding gives both accessory types a clear purpose.
