Accessories for the Piaggio X8 250

The Piaggio X8 250 is a scooter suited to everyday journeys around town as well as trips on the road. That mix of use shapes which accessories are worth considering: frequent stops put a focus on security when parked, while time spent riding in changeable weather makes protection from the elements more relevant. Your priorities may be quite different on a short commute and a longer ride.

What riders usually fit to the Piaggio X8 250

For a scooter used regularly, it makes sense to start with the parts that address parking, exposure to the weather and comfort while riding:

• Security locks: useful when the X8 250 is left outside during the working day or parked repeatedly while running errands. They suit a scooter that makes short, practical journeys easy but may spend just as much time waiting at the kerb. Artago and Urban are among the accessory brands listed for this bike.
• Covers and leg covers: this category is worth looking at if your scooter faces rain while parked or you ride through colder months. Depending on the item, the focus may be on sheltering the X8 250 between journeys or making regular rides less exposed to wind and wet weather.
• Screens: a useful consideration for riders who take the X8 250 beyond town and spend longer stretches on the road. Reducing exposure to oncoming air can matter more on those journeys than it does on a short hop between city streets.
• Handlebar accessories: the handlebar area is where you interact with the scooter on every turn, stop and low-speed manoeuvre. If much of your riding involves traffic and repeated stops, it is a sensible area to consider when deciding how to equip your X8 250.

Think about the journeys you make most often before deciding what to fit. A scooter that is parked outdoors every day calls for a different emphasis from one used mainly for longer rides, even when both are Piaggio X8 250s.
