Accessories for the Piaggio X9 500 Evolution

The Piaggio X9 500 Evolution is a scooter suited to everyday travel as well as journeys beyond town. Those two settings place different demands on your accessories. Frequent stops make security and protection while parked worth thinking about; on the open road, wind exposure becomes more noticeable. The useful choice depends less on how much you can fit and more on whether most of your riding involves commuting, longer trips or a mixture of both.

What riders usually fit to the Piaggio X9 500 Evolution

• Security locks: a practical consideration when your X9 is left parked at work or during a series of stops around town. They become part of the routine each time you leave the scooter, rather than something reserved for longer stays.
• Covers and leg covers: useful in different parts of the daily routine. A cover helps protect the scooter while it is parked, while a leg cover can make cold-weather journeys more comfortable, particularly when short urban trips offer little chance to warm up.
• Screens: worth considering if your usual journey includes stretches of open road. In a scooter’s upright riding position, a suitable screen can lessen your exposure to the airflow during sustained riding, when wind matters more than it does between traffic lights.
• Handlebar accessories: this is the part of the scooter you interact with through every low-speed turn, stop and manoeuvre. It is a sensible area to focus on if much of your X9 riding involves negotiating town streets.
• Filters: relevant to keeping up with maintenance when the scooter covers regular miles across both urban roads and longer routes. Unlike items chosen for a particular trip, they relate to the ongoing use of the bike.

Think about where your X9 spends most of its time: moving through traffic, riding at a steady pace or standing parked. That makes it easier to decide which of these accessories will earn their place in your routine.
