Accessories for the Suzuki B-King

The Suzuki B-King is a naked bike suited to road riding, from weekday journeys to weekend runs on winding roads. Those two uses put different demands on the accessories you fit. In town, protection during parking manoeuvres and a clear view of following traffic deserve attention; on longer rides, wind exposure and your riding position become more noticeable. Start with how you actually use your B-King rather than changing every part at once.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki B-King

• Screens: A screen helps deflect airflow away from your torso on motorway stretches and longer days out. For a naked bike such as the B-King, this makes wind protection a more relevant addition for regular open-road riding than for short urban trips.
• Crash protectors and bars: These are worth considering when your road rides also involve tight parking spaces and low-speed manoeuvres in town. They can help keep certain parts of the bike from contacting the ground in a fall, although they cannot prevent every kind of damage.
• Handlebars: Handlebar shape and height influence how far you reach and how you hold your upper body. On the B-King, those contact points matter both when steering through town and when settling into a comfortable position for several hours on the road.
• Footrests: Your feet need a secure place to rest through bends as well as on longer, steady stretches. Alongside the handlebars, footrests are worth considering when working out a riding position that suits the way you use your B-King.
• Mirrors: For weekday traffic, a useful rearward view helps you keep track of vehicles behind; out on faster roads, it supports observation before changing lanes. Mirror position matters here, particularly if your arms obscure much of the view from your normal riding position.
