Accessories for the Suzuki C1500 Intruder

The Suzuki C1500 Intruder is a cruiser made for taking an unhurried approach to the road, whether you are out for an afternoon or spending much longer in the saddle. On this sort of bike, wind protection can make a real difference to how a ride feels. It is also worth thinking about the time the bike spends parked and how comfortable you feel at the bars.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki C1500 Intruder

The useful starting point is what you notice while riding. From there, consider how often you take longer trips and where your Intruder stands between outings.

• Windscreens: these take some of the airflow away from your chest, which can be welcome on a sustained road ride. The exposed riding position of a cruiser makes this particularly noticeable when you spend hours in the saddle. Puig is among the accessory brands available for this model.
• Protectors: these are worth considering if you want to look after exposed parts of the bike during regular use. They are especially relevant when a relaxed ride ends with low-speed manoeuvres into a parking space.
• Bike covers: a cover is useful when the Intruder stays parked between rides, helping to keep dust off it. If you cover the bike after a run, allow hot areas to cool first rather than putting the cover on immediately.
• Handlebars: the bars affect where your arms rest and how the bike feels to steer. For longer journeys, think about your position in the saddle and where your hands naturally fall before considering a change to the riding position.

For a C1500 Intruder from 2005 to 2009, the right priorities depend on your rides: time spent facing the wind, everyday parking manoeuvres or the intervals between trips.
