Accessories for the Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom

The Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom is an adventure bike well suited to road touring, weekend trips and riding with a pillion. For that kind of use, carrying luggage, managing wind exposure and finding a comfortable riding position matter more than cosmetic changes. The right priorities depend on whether your V-Strom spends most of its time commuting or covering long distances away from home.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom

• Luggage: cases make clothing and travel essentials easier to organise on overnight trips. They become particularly useful when a pillion joins you and you need room for two people's belongings without wearing a rucksack throughout the journey.
• Screens: help reduce wind exposure on motorway stretches and longer days on open roads. For a touring V-Strom, the useful balance is protection that suits your height and normal riding position, rather than simply choosing the largest screen.
• Crash bars and sliders: help limit damage from a stationary drop or a low-speed fall. They are worth considering for loaded trips, where parking manoeuvres and turning around in a narrow entrance can demand extra care.
• Handlebars and footrests: address the contact points for your hands and feet. When spending several hours on the V-Strom, a natural riding position matters on both the main-road journey and the winding roads you have travelled to enjoy.
• Phone mounts: keep navigation directions in view when exploring unfamiliar roads. They are useful for following a back-road route or finding your overnight stop; set up the journey before moving off so adjustments do not interrupt your riding.

Why your V-Strom's year matters

The DL1000 V-Strom has changed over the years, and the 2002-2007, 2014-2016 and 2017-2019 versions do not all use the same accessories. Screens, footrests and protectors are examples of parts that are not interchangeable across every version. Choose your bike's year on this page to see only the accessories that fit yours.
