Accessories for the Suzuki DL1050DE V-Strom

The Suzuki DL1050DE V-Strom is an adventure bike suited to road touring and exploring unpaved tracks. The right accessories depend on how those miles add up: a week away calls for luggage space, long motorway stretches put wind protection first, and gravel riding brings your standing position into focus. Taking a pillion adds another consideration when planning how to carry everything.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki DL1050DE V-Strom

• Panniers: For multi-day tours, luggage cases help organise clothing and separate items you need at a stop from the rest of your kit. Two-up trips make space for both riders especially useful, rather than packing solely around the rider's daily essentials.
• Screens: Wind protection becomes a priority when motorway miles connect the more interesting parts of a tour. A screen can reduce exposure to airflow, but your height and riding position affect the result. On mixed-surface routes, a clear view of the ground ahead also matters.
• Protectors and crash bars: These are worth considering when road trips include gravel tracks, where a low-speed fall can disrupt the journey. They help shield exposed areas, with different pieces serving different parts of the bike rather than providing interchangeable protection.
• Handlebars and footpegs: These contact points shape the transition from seated road riding to standing on the pegs over unpaved ground. Hand position and boot support affect how comfortably you can move around the bike, making them particularly relevant to mixed-surface days.
• Levers: Winding roads and slower sections of trail can mean frequent use of the brake and clutch. Lever shape and reach influence how your gloved fingers meet the controls, an important detail when a day's route combines touring miles with more demanding riding.
