Accessories for the Suzuki DL800 V-Strom

The Suzuki DL800 V-Strom is an adventure bike suited to commuting, weekend rides and longer road trips. Those different jobs call for a practical approach to accessories: wind protection for motorway miles, luggage for nights away and protection for awkward moments when parking or turning at low speed. How often you carry a pillion will also shape the way you set up your bike.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki DL800 V-Strom

• Windscreens: useful for reducing wind pressure on your upper body during longer motorway stretches. With the upright riding position associated with an adventure bike, screen height matters: the aim is shelter for the journey without compromising your view of the road ahead.
• Luggage: cases give clothing and overnight essentials their own space, leaving the pillion seat free. If your V-Strom regularly takes two people away for the weekend, consider luggage capacity alongside the room your passenger needs to sit comfortably and get on and off.
• Crash protection and crash bars: intended to help limit damage to the areas they cover in a low-speed fall. They are worth considering for a touring V-Strom, particularly when manoeuvring with luggage in confined parking spaces or stopping on uneven ground.
• Footpegs: a comfortable foothold becomes more important as the miles build up. For road touring on the V-Strom, the peg surface and position deserve attention as part of your overall riding posture, especially when a day combines winding roads with long connecting stretches.
• Phone mounts: keep navigation visible when a familiar commute gives way to unfamiliar touring roads. On a bike used for both, a sensible mounting position leaves the instruments clear and does not obstruct the handlebars or controls. Set your route before you start riding.
