Accessories for the Suzuki GSX-8S

The Suzuki GSX-8S is a naked bike suited to weekday commuting and weekend rides on winding roads. Those two roles call for slightly different accessories: protection is useful around town, while wind deflection and a comfortable riding position matter more when you head further afield. A practical setup balances these needs without turning every everyday ride into a touring exercise.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki GSX-8S

• Screens: A screen helps redirect some of the airflow reaching your upper body, particularly on motorway stretches between more interesting roads. For a naked GSX-8S, it is a useful addition when your usual short journeys start giving way to longer days out.
• Protectors, crash bungs and crash bars: Daily use often involves parking spaces, tight turns and low-speed manoeuvres. These accessories can help limit damage to the areas they cover if the bike goes over, making protection a practical consideration for a GSX-8S used throughout the working week.
• Levers and handlebars: Frequent clutch and brake use puts the controls in focus during a city commute. On longer rides, arm and wrist position becomes just as important. These are areas to address if you want your setup to serve both town riding and weekend mileage.
• Footrests: Foot support is part of the riding position, not simply a styling detail. It deserves attention on a GSX-8S used for winding-road rides, especially when an hour in the saddle becomes an afternoon and your relationship with the bars and footrests matters more.
• Number plate holders: These change how the plate sits visually within the rear of the bike. They suit a styling-led GSX-8S build, keeping the focus on the uncluttered look associated with a naked rather than adding accessories intended for touring.

Let the journeys you actually make set the priorities. For a commuter that also covers weekend miles, wind protection and riding position deserve attention before cosmetic finishing touches.
