Accessories for the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT

The Suzuki GSX-S1000GT is a sports tourer suited to long road trips as well as weekends on winding roads. Choosing accessories for that mix means thinking beyond appearance: wind protection, comfortable contact with the controls and protection against low-speed mishaps all have a practical role. The priorities will depend on whether your usual ride is a full day away, a shorter outing or a journey with a pillion.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT

• Screens: Motorway stretches between more interesting roads make wind management particularly relevant on a sports tourer. A screen helps direct airflow around your upper body, but its shape needs to suit your height and normal riding position rather than simply being as tall as possible.
• Protectors, crash bobbins and crash bars: Fuel stops, parking and getting a pillion aboard are part of touring too. These accessories aim to reduce damage to the areas they protect during a stationary or low-speed fall, although no protective part can prevent every possible mark or breakage.
• Levers: Twisty roads mean frequent use of the controls, while towns along the route add more clutch work. Lever shape affects how your fingers rest on the controls, making comfortable brake and clutch operation worth considering when short rides turn into whole days on the road.
• Footrests: Secure support for your boots matters when linking bends, but foot placement also affects how comfortable you feel over longer distances. For this blend of sporty riding and touring, the contact surface and room to reposition your feet deserve attention alongside the hand controls.
• Phone mounts: Useful when your touring route takes you onto unfamiliar roads and you rely on phone navigation. A mount keeps the device secured near the controls, so there is no need to retrieve it from a pocket at each stop; set up your route before riding.
